About the Provincial ED Physician Contingency Locum Pool
The Provincial ED Physician Contingency Locum Pool:
• Supports locums to fill vacancies at sites across the province, regardless of your home health authority.
• Coordinates with the Ministry of Health and all regional health authorities.
• Facilitates a streamlined process to get locums filling shifts in sites outside of their health authority.
• Offers relief to communities across B.C. facing ED closures.
• Is open to BC-licensed physicians in good standing, and recently graduated residents, with emergency medicine experience.
ECBC will support:
• Recruiting physicians.
• Streamlining credentialing and privileging for all HAs across B.C.
• Screening eligible sites and collecting locum shift details.
• Matching locum shifts with available physicians.
• Connecting locums with HA leads to facilitate compensation, travel & accommodation and on-boarding.
• Evaluating participation and feedback on an ongoing basis.
