Bella Coola General Hospital
Bella Coola is a small community situated on the Central Coast, nestled among the majestic Coast Mountains, in the Heart of the Great Bear Rainforest. Several smaller settlements stretch along 80 km of highway along the beautiful Bella Coola Valley. The town is located in the traditional, unceded, ancestral territory of the Nuxalk Nation. Today, Nuxalkmc are joined by descendants of Norwegian settlers and more recent visitors to produce a diverse and thriving community. In the Bella Coola Valley, you will find everything you need to live comfortably including grocery stores, restaurants, artisan shops, several schools, and more.
Bella Coola’s physicians practice out of an integrated facility that houses both the Bella Coola Medical Clinic and the Bella Coola General Hospital, but also do clinics at the local high schools and fill-in clinics at Anahim Lake.
A couple of bikes and helmets and clinic gym are available for locums’ use. Locums will have access to a clinic Jeep in order to sightsee when not working.

Bella Coola General Hospital is a 15-bed facility providing acute, residential and emergency care, as well as diagnostic imaging, telehealth, and visiting physiotherapy services. There is also a lab and pharmacy onsite. The Medical Clinic hosts visiting specialists.

• Mid-week start dates for 5+ days possible.
• Shifts are often 12-hours weekday/night or 24-hours on weekends.

Compensation range (estimate)
• Compensation for one week coverage (Monday – Sunday AM, 6 days, min 48 hrs.), including VCH clinical services contract + FPE + MOCAP + REEF: $13,731.43.
• After Hours Premium (AHP): +$25-35/hr, dependent on the number & time of hours worked after hours and is addition to the amounts noted above when on call. AHP qualifies for the FPE of 25.62%.
Travel & Accommodation
• Travel costs will be covered from Vancouver – a one-hour flight on Pacific Coastal Airlines.
• Accommodation is provided by the site at no cost.
