Integrating Indigenous Knowledge for Culturally Relevant Health Care Responses 

Learning Objectives: 

• Learn how to conceptualize knowledge about trauma through the frames of Intergenerational healing (Yellowhorse-Braveheart, 1998), interpersonal neurobiology (Siegal, 2020) and developmental approaches to assessing and healing trauma (Geddes, 2013). 

• Understand that Indigenous caring practices are both culturally appropriate and trauma informed, and these will also be shared as methods of healing from developmental trauma across the lifespan.
