Grand Rounds on Opioid Overdose in the ED
The UBC Department of Emergency Medicine recently held a province-wide Grand Rounds on opioid overdose management in the ED. Topics covered include acute emergency management in the ED, ED-based harm reduction, the ED-community connection, VCH overdose outreach team engagement.
The panel of speakers included: Dr. Roy Purssell, Professor; Dr. Julian Marsden, Clinical Professor; and Dr. Andrew Kestler, Clinical Associate Professor, from the UBC Department of Emergency Medicine. As well as Ms. Misty Bath, Manager, Regional HIV Services & Overdose Outreach Team, and Dr. Reka Gustafson, Medical Health Officer and Medical Director of Communicable Disease Control, from Vancouver Coastal Health.
