Effective October 5, 2026, Emergency Care BC (ECBC) will no longer maintain clinical reference materials where appropriate, validated, and actively maintained resources are available through other trusted sources.

Clinical guidance, medication information, procedures, and other point-of-care resources require ongoing review to ensure they remain aligned with current evidence, standards, and clinical practice. Retaining resources that cannot be consistently reviewed and updated creates a risk that clinicians may rely on outdated information.

ECBC will therefore transition clinicians toward established provincial, organizational, and evidence-based resources that have the appropriate clinical expertise, governance, and processes in place to support ongoing review and maintenance.

This approach will reduce duplication, strengthen access to current and trusted clinical information, and support clinicians in using the most appropriate resources for clinical decision-making.

ECBC may continue to develop or host resources where there is a specific provincial need not adequately addressed elsewhere. This may include resources related to provincial public health emergencies, emerging issues, or other BC-specific situations and processes, developed in collaboration with relevant provincial partners.
