In 2027, Emergency Care BC will be transitioning to the newly formed BC Shared Health Services. As part of our preparation for this transition, we are decommissioning our existing clinical content on emergencycarebc.ca.  

Changes to ECBC’s Clinical Resources 

Effective October 5, 2026, Emergency Care BC (ECBC) will no longer maintain clinical reference and patient information materials online where appropriate, validated, and actively maintained resources are available through other trusted sources. 

Clinical guidance, medication information, procedures, and other point-of-care resources require ongoing review to ensure they remain aligned with current evidence, standards, and clinical practice. Retaining resources that cannot be consistently reviewed and updated creates a risk of clinicians relying on outdated information. 

 ECBC is removing this clinical content from our website and referring clinicians to established provincial or organizational, evidence-based resources that have the appropriate clinical expertise, governance structures, and processes in place for ongoing review, updating, and maintenance. 

This approach reduces duplication, strengthens access to current and trusted clinical information, and supports clinicians in using the most appropriate resources for clinical decision-making and patient information.
