Calling all Fraser Health emergency department staff — the MSK CARE (Musculoskeletal Comprehensive Assessment and Response in Emergency Departments) Pathway research team is seeking feedback to help inform a new pathway that may be piloted in Fraser Health EDs for patients with low-urgency musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.

The proposed pathway would give patients the option to receive an immediate consultation with an MSK provider (e.g., physiotherapist) after ED triage, with assessment in an MSK CARE clinic, an initial management plan, and follow-up as needed. The overall goal is to reduce unnecessary ED visits while improving access to high-quality MSK care.

Eligible participants include Fraser Health clinicians and non-clinical staff who have worked in a Fraser Health ED for at least 6 cumulative months (full-time, part-time, or casual) over the last 3 years. Participation involves a 10-minute online survey and an optional 1:1 interview to explore readiness to implement the MSK CARE clinic.

Please consider participating and sharing with colleagues who may be interested.
