Late last year, a report was published on the independent investigation into Indigenous-specific discrimination in BC healthcare. The investigation was requested by the BC Ministry of Health, and authored by Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond. Dr. Turpel-Lafond is a lawyer, judge, and legislative advocate for children’s rights in BC.
Q&A with Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond
In a recent episode of the Warrior Life Podcast, Dr. Turpel-Lafond is interviewed about the investigation. In the video podcast (embedded below), she shares key findings and recommendations. This video podcast is a great way to gain an understanding of the report and its implications for health care practice in BC. There is also a great break-down of the podcast episode at Indigenousnationhood.blogspot.com.
