We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Riyad Abu-Laban has been appointed to the role of Interim Scientific Director at Emergency Care BC (ECBC).

As an emergency physician and passionate researcher, Dr. Abu-Laban led the BC Emergency Medicine Network (BC EMN) Scientific Program. Dr. Abu-Laban was responsible for the development and implementation of a BC EMN data road map and chaired the BC EMN Data Strategy and Advocacy Committee.

Dr. Abu-Laban will play a key role within ECBC and the UBC DEM by maintaining former research activities previously under BC EMN and advising on the development of the Research, Analytics and Evaluation Science program at ECBC, including supporting the development and alignment of research activities between ECBC and the UBC DEM.
